KATHMANDU, MAR 09 -
A fire in a slum at Bhimsengola nearby Sinamangal, Kathmandu was brought under control on Sunday afternoon.
Around two dozen huts were gutted in the fire but no reports of casualty or injury, DSP at Metropolitan Police Circile, Gausala Abinarayan Kafle informed.
Fire brigade vehicles, security personnel from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army doused the fire.
The fire might have started due to electric short circuit from a scrap store. Four fire engines were deployed to put out the mid-day fire.
The settlement was inhabited by landless squatters. But the fire also spread to an adjoining three-storied building, causing minor damage.
