KATHMANDU, JAN 04 - Unified CPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has said the internal dispute surfaced in the party in connection with the nomination of Constituent Assembly (CA) members under the Proportional Representation (PR) category will be resolved soon.
Speaking at a regular press meet organised at the party headquarters in Koteshwor on Saturday, Sapkota said," The key issue is political opinion. Dispute surfaced while making such opinion should not be taken otherwise. Such altercations are prevailing in other parties as well but the difference is in the magnitude of the dispute ."
When asked whether the party is on verge of a split due to widening rift among top leaders, he argued that the leaders with such long experience would not commit such a serious mistake.
He further said the party's central committee meeting taking place from January 10 would resolve the dispute seen within the party.
UCPN (Maoist) leader duo Baburam Bhattarai and Narayan Kaji Shrestha, have been objecting party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's unilateral act of finalising the PR list of lawmakers.
